G. Frost Johnson Joins Clearinghouse As Regional Director

HERNDON, VA, January 4, 2006 - The National Student Clearinghouse, a non-profit organization founded by the higher education community that provides educational verification and research services to post-secondary institutions and high schools, today announced the appointment of G. Frost Johnson as its newest regional director, effective December 1, 2005. More than 2,800 post-secondary institutions — representing over 91% of the nation's college enrollment — participate in the Clearinghouse.

Mr. Johnson will promote Clearinghouse services to registrars, admissions officers and institutional researchers at colleges, universities and high schools located in California and Oregon. He will be responsible for increasing participation in the Clearinghouse's free Web-based degree and enrollment verification services (DegreeVerify and EnrollmentVerify, respectively), free online Transcript Ordering service, and its subscription-based educational research service, StudentTracker.

"Frost has worked successfully both within the college environment and, as a consultant to higher education, the private sector," said Dr. Jeffery M. Tanner, vice president of Higher Education Development at the Clearinghouse, "I think that combination of experience will prove quite valuable to the high schools and collegiate institutions he will work with in California and Oregon."

"I'm very proud to be joining the Clearinghouse team. This is a wonderful opportunity to share my years of experience as a technician, project leader, manager, and administrator with my peers," said Mr. Johnson, "In addition, as a long-time Clearinghouse user, I believe I offer insights that can help my fellow administrators better utilize its many services to offset their workload and improve service. "

Mr. Johnson has more than 25 years of experience in college registration and enrollment management. Prior to joining the Clearinghouse, he was director of Enrollment Services at Portland Community College, which has more than 83,000 students. There, he was responsible for overseeing the school's admissions, records and other enrollment-related programs. Previous to that, he held a number of administrative positions, including associate registrar, during his long tenure at the University of New Mexico. Mr. Johnson was also a student systems consultant for several years at SungardSCT, the leading provider of information technology for higher education.

Mr. Johnson recently completed a term as the vice president and president of the Pacific Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers (PACRAO) and has served as its vice president for Publications and Information Technology. He has also been an active, long-time member of the Oregon Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (OrACRAO) and is a past member of the Rocky Mountain Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (RMACRAO). In addition, Mr. Johnson has served as the committee chair on Community College Issues for the Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).
