National Student Clearinghouse Names Dr. Jeffery Tanner As Vice President Of Higher Education Development
HERNDON, VA, JANUARY 29, 2002 - The National Student Clearinghouse, a non-profit
organization founded by the higher education community, today announced the appointment of Jeffery M. Tanner, Ed.D, as vice president of higher education development. Dr. Tanner, a past president of AACRAO (American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers), joins the Clearinghouse effective February 4, 2002.
As the vice president of higher education development, Dr. Tanner will lead the team responsible for working with registrars, financial aid directors, institutional researchers and other academic administration professionals to provide student record management services and solutions to the higher education community. John Ward, who currently holds this position, will assume the role of vice president of client services, managing the operational implementation and delivery of services to institutions, as well as directing Clearinghouse corporate communications activities.

He has served on our board since the Clearinghouse's founding and has contributed extensively to the establishment and growth of the Clearinghouse," said Daniel R. Boehmer, president of the National Student Clearinghouse. "In addition to his outstanding leadership skills, Dr. Tanner brings extensive academic experience that will be extremely helpful as the Clearinghouse moves forward in developing and maintaining relationships within the higher education community."

Dr. Tanner brings over thirty years of experience in higher education to his new role. Prior to joining the Clearinghouse, Dr. Tanner served as the associate dean of admissions and records at Brigham Young University where he was responsible for outreach recruitment efforts, admissions, and managing the records of over 30,000 BYU students. His thirty-one year tenure at Brigham Young also included work as financial aid director, assistant registrar, and director of admissions. In addition to serving as the national president of AACRAO, Dr. Tanner was a member of their board of directors from 1992 to 1995. Dr. Tanner also served on the board of directors of the National Student Clearinghouse from 1994 through 2001.
During the last twenty years, Dr. Tanner provided consulting services to numerous colleges and universities around the globe, including Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel, Arizona State University, Phoenix, Arizona, The University of Jordan, Amman, Jordan, Birzeit University, Ramallah, Palestine, and Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio.
